Fragrant rows of lavender, themed herbal gardens and an array of whimsical vine sculptures, created by local artist Annabel Stanley, await you at our family farm located in the beautiful Okanagan
Valley in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada.
Christina Symons of GardenWise Magazine suggests you "...follow your nose to Okanagan Lavender Farm. The beguiling fragrance will lead you through stunning purple fields, with displays of over 60 kinds of lavender. Pick an armful of stems from the u-pick bed and afterwards enjoy a glass of refreshing lavender lemonade or lavender ice cream. Then browse the charming country store for lavender keepsakes, such as handmade wreaths and beauty products."
Our Irish grandfather arrived in the Okanagan in 1908. He paved the way for his descendants to embrace agriculture as a way of life, first working for David Gellatly at the historic Gellatly Nut Farm on the Westside and then starting Stewart Brothers Nursery in Kelowna in 1911. This particular farm property was purchased
in the 1950's and operated as an apple orchard until the 1990's when the trees were in decline and required replanting. |
